You are encouraged to participate openly and actively in the process, while moving at a pace that feels appropriate for you. Counselling can support meaningful personal growth and change; however, individual outcomes vary, and no particular result can be guaranteed

Email, messaging, or other electronic communication may not be continuously monitored and should not be relied upon for urgent or emergency support.

Please do not use ordinary messages or email to communicate an immediate risk to your safety.

7. Emergency & Crisis Support

Counselling sessions are not an emergency or crisis response service.

If you are experiencing an immediate risk of harming yourself or someone else, or are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, please seek urgent professional assistance rather than waiting for your next counselling session.

Where there is a serious and imminent safety concern, your counsellor may need to take reasonable steps to protect you or another person, including contacting appropriate emergency or support services.

8. Children, Young Persons & Family Counselling

Where counselling involves a child or young person, consent will be obtained from the appropriate parent, guardian, or authorised person where required.

The counsellor will work to respect the young person’s privacy while also recognising the responsibility to act when there are significant safety or safeguarding concerns.

For family or couples counselling, information shared within a joint session may not be treated as confidential from the other participants in that session. The boundaries of confidentiality will be discussed at the beginning of the counselling process.
